If I only wanted to lop off the beginning or ending it would be enough.
If you wanted to remove a block of commercials for example, you would have to select the whole section before, lock it down, select the whole section after, lock it down, and then save it. I realize that sounds like it is the same thing but it's really not. I tried using VidCutter as it gets a lot of good reviews but I can't seem to figure out a way to remove sections from the middle of a video (like commercials), it only seems to let you select the sections you want to KEEP. Then you just save it and it saves super fast because it doesn't re-code the video. Machete is great because it's pretty easy to trim sections and cut and paste and move things around and you can preview it in real time. Machete can edit video and audio files in AVI, FLV, WMV, MKV, WebM, MP4, 3GP, 3G2, MOV, WMA, MP3 and WAV formats and I would like one that can do the same if possible. It does place it in the "open with" list, but then "open with" just launches the losslesscut application, and does not open the desired file. I had the same problem with ksnip and fixed ksnip, but the solution for ksnip did not work with losslesscut. It's not anywhere in the "open with" list. I checked losslesscut, and I can confirm what you say. I noticed losslesscut on one of my other computers here - when I locate it, I will test it for that operation.
